AlNayzak Organization is a non-profit, non- partisan, and unique organization that looks for young talents in science, technology, entrepreneurship, engineering, and math (STEEM), and plants an ambitious vision in the hearts of our community: “An Innovative society, capable of producing original scientific knowledge, integrated with sustainable development”.

 

About BEA

AlNayzak for Supportive Education and Scientific Innovation is a part of the Basic Education Activity, which was recently awarded to the consortium led by Creative DC, AlNayzak, and Juzoor. AlNayzak will implement STEM-related interventions focused on informal education. Activities will include mobile exhibitions, science fun days, STEM/STEAM incubators, and Science House Tinkering space interventions. BEA will geographically cover the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem.

 

 

Basic Education Activity Interventions

• Tinkering At the Science House: Tinkering, under the guidance of facilitators, fosters hands-on exploration at AlNayzak’s Science House and tinkering space, which features various themes. Students engage in experiments and interactive exhibitions, divided into groups no more than 25. Tinkering Emphasizes open inquiry into scientific topics.

 

• Winter and Summer Science Camp: AlNayzak offers Winter and Summer Science Camps aimed at Grades 4-6. Winter sessions span 10 days, while summer sessions extend to 21 days, aligning with school breaks. These camps deliver immersive science and technology-based learning experiences, emphasizing the latest technological advancements.

 

• Mobile science fun days: AlNayzak employs mobile science exhibitions and scientific theater shows to engage students in interactive learning experiences. The events offer hands-on experiments, from chemical reactions to Virtual Reality tours, fostering a dynamic environment for exploration. AlNayzak will bring these experiences to partner CBOs and CSOs within the targeted communities.

 

• STEM/STEAM Incubators: STEAM/STEM Incubators offer a weekly extracurricular program for students in grades 4 and 6. These weekly sessions, conducted over weekends, concentrate on fostering 21st-century and entrepreneurial skills. The curriculum spans diverse STEM/STEAM topics, including Robotics, Chemistry, Biology, Design thinking and more.

 

Role Overview

STEAM volunteers can engage in a variety of tasks depending on their interests, skills, and the needs of the project. Volunteers will be involved in activities at the Science and Technology House, STEAM Fun Days, STEAM Incubators, STEAM Camps, and any other locations where AlNayzak holds activities.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and build prototypes for new activities.
  • Test and iterate on prototypes based on feedback.
  • Assist STEAM facilitators in preparing and implementing activities and event spaces.
  • Share skills and knowledge to achieve common goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to learners while working on projects.
  • Teach learners how to use tools and equipment safely.
  • Work within the team to complete any tasks assigned by program leadership.

Minimum Requirements

  • School and university students above 15 years old are welcome to apply.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Arabic is required.

Skills and Attributes

  • Ability to work with school-age children (4-16).
  • Team player, friendly, and keen to learn.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and in the afternoons.
  • Willingness to travel to different locations.
